Summary
The commission approved Job Development Incentive Program withholding-credit agreements with AirHydropower LLC (about 52 new jobs; $13.2M investment) and Pan Austin Company (about 20 new jobs), with staff saying the projects will add employment in the TransPark and expand a long‑time local employer.
The Board of Commissioners approved two Job Development Incentive Program (JDIP) withholding-credit agreements at its Dec. 2 meeting, including one for AirHydropower LLC and another for Pan Austin Company.
Assistant City Manager Katie Scheller Ward presented the agreements. She said the AirHydropower project is expected to create about 52 new jobs and represents roughly a $13.2 million capital investment in the TransPark; staff noted a groundbreaking originally scheduled for the next day was postponed until spring and that the JDIP committee previously reviewed the project. For Pan Austin, staff said the company is an existing local employer and the expansion is projected to add about 20 jobs; the incentive equates to an estimated $100,000 in credits over a 10‑year period for the company.
Commissioners moved and approved each municipal order. Staff described the JDIP agreements as standard incentive tools to encourage local job creation and capital investment.
Next steps: City staff will administer the agreements and monitor job creation per the JDIP terms.
