Public Works representative Rob Romeo told the council the milling machine will let crews grind damaged street sections and remove spoils by conveyor, reducing excavation time and enabling stronger repairs. "This milling machine will allow us to grind bad sections of street, removing spoils with conveyor system rather than having to socket, excavate," Romeo said, noting the equipment helps a small crew work more efficiently.
Councilor Smith moved to approve the resolution; the motion was seconded and the mayor called the voice vote. The motion passed by voice vote; no roll‑call tally was recorded in the transcript.
Staff said the purchase will help the city meet seasonal paving needs and support repair obligations to surrounding agencies when the city performs work for them.
