The Boise City Council approved two subdivision applications on the consent and land-use calendars. The first, SUB-25-63 (State View Place), is a preliminary and final plat for a five-lot residential subdivision at 10218 West Shields Avenue in an R-1C zone; the planning and zoning commission recommended approval and the applicant confirmed agreement with staff conditions. The proposal includes a common drive, detached sidewalks and landscape buffering; council voted to approve the plat.
The second, SUB-25-46, is a preliminary and final one-lot subdivision on 5.04 acres at 8371 West Salt Creek Drive in an A-1/AIO zone to create a parcel for a surface parking lot with 235 spaces to serve nearby West Junior High and Frank Church High School. The project includes right-of-way dedications and sidewalks. Planning staff noted previously approved variances and deviations related to attached sidewalks and parking standards were not before the council; neighbors’ earlier concerns were addressed with additional detached sidewalks. The council approved SUB-25-46 on a roll-call vote.
Planning staff and applicants emphasized the sites meet dimensional and code standards for the proposed use. The council’s approvals allow the applicants to proceed with final platting and subsequent building permits or construction steps per city code.
