The Durant City Council approved an ordinance (O-2025-20) to rezone a large parcel on Sunnyside Road from agriculture to R-1 single-family residential. A presenter (speaker 8) said the parcel currently has no address, abuts R-1 zoning, and the applicant's plan was to build a home and possibly split a lot for a family member. Planning Commission recommended approval (3'0yes, 0 no) and staff said future land use supports the rezoning (SEG 382-398).
Council moved to approve item 4e (rezoning), then separately moved and approved the ordinance's emergency clause (4e2); both motions passed by roll call (SEG 401-428). Later, the council approved a replat request for property on East Florida Street to correct shifted lot lines and setbacks so that three duplexes conform with city code; staff said the structures would remain and the replat "cleans everything up" (SEG 433-446). The replat motion (4f) was moved, seconded and approved by roll call (SEG 487-499).
The transcript records planning commission support and council approval but does not include detailed site addresses or opposition testimony.
