The Planning Commission recommended approval of a conditional use permit for Law Street Brewery to permit installation of an oven in the existing building, forwarding the recommendation to city council for final action.
Paul, planning staff, described the proposal and said staff had suggested a parking variance initially but that the applicant and an engineer later identified options to avoid a variance. "So with that being said, staff's overall approval or recommendation was to approve this CUB," Paul said.
The applicant attended and answered questions. One commissioner said they were involved in the project and stated they would abstain from voting. A motion to recommend approval passed and the item will go before city council next week on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m.
The record shows the commission advanced the CUP by recommendation and noted parking and the abstention in the minutes; city council will take the final vote at its scheduled hearing.
