Dickinson selects Valbridge to appraise three city parcels for $14,500

The Dickinson City Commission voted unanimously on Nov. 4 to award a request for proposals to Valbridge Appraisal Services to appraise three city-owned parcels, City Administrator Dossinger said.
"The purpose of the appraisal is to determine the current fair market value to support future planning and potential land use decisions," Dossinger told the commission. The parcel list includes Lot 1, Block 1 of Prairie Meadows Subdivision (about 13.29 acres west of Dickinson Middle School); Lot 2, Block 1 of the Museum Center addition (46 West Museum Drive, about 1.16 acres, the former armory site); and Lot 1, Block 1 of the Museum Center addition (66 West Museum Drive, about 3.93 acres where the Dickinson Law Enforcement Center is located).
Two firms responded to the RFP. A scoring committee of City Planner Natalie Burchek, Senior Engineer Chris Keller and Dossinger evaluated proposals on experience, proposal clarity, cost, timeline and past performance and recommended Valbridge. The commission approved the award for a total of $14,500; Commissioner Murphy moved to approve and Commissioner Bair seconded.
The city said the appraisals will guide future planning and potential land-use decisions; the commission did not set any immediate sale or redevelopment actions at the meeting.
