The Columbus City Council approved two procurement items at its Dec. 1 meeting: a $24,417 quote from ProVantage LLC for 13 laptops, 20 monitors and computer hardware for various departments, and a $342,120 purchase from Northern Truck Equipment Corporation for three tandem-axle trailers for the transfer station (CIP 23-45).
Councilmember Charles Barr moved to accept the ProVantage quote; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
On the trailers purchase, council members asked whether replaced trailers would be traded in or scrapped. Public Works staff (Chuck) responded that the replaced units are likely to be auctioned after evaluation because they will probably have low value. The council then approved the trailer purchase by voice vote.
The purchases were recorded as standard procurement approvals and no amendments or additional funding sources were discussed during the meeting.
