The Cottage Grove City Council voted to adopt two expedited annexation ordinances covering city right‑of‑way segments.
Senior Planner Lenny Crow told the council the city acquired the McKinley Avenue right‑of‑way and is pursuing an expedited annexation under section 18.04.05 of the Cottage Grove Municipal Code; the stretch is approximately 911 feet long. After staff said public notice was provided and no written comments or requests for hearings had been received, Councilor Wilson moved to adopt Ordinance No. 3198; the roll call vote was unanimous and the motion carried.
Staff then presented a second expedited annexation for a portion of Highway 99 (about 5,050 feet) submitted jointly by the city and the Oregon Department of Transportation. The ordinance package included map and legal descriptions; staff again reported no written comments and recommended the council hold the first vote. Council adopted Ordinance No. 3199 unanimously.
Planner Crow said annexing the rights‑of‑way will make adjacent parcels contiguous to city limits and enable future annexations of adjoining properties. Staff noted the ordinances had been available to council at least one week before the meeting, enabling single‑meeting adoption as permitted by the city charter when procedural requirements are met.
No council member requested further hearings; there was no public testimony at the time of the votes.
