The Gallatin City Board of Zoning Appeals on Monday voted to grant a variance allowing a 312-square-foot front addition that will encroach about 8.8 feet into the 40-foot front-yard setback at 459 Bay Point Drive.
Planning staff had recommended denying the request because, in its view, the application did not meet the city's variance standards. "Staff recommends that the variance not be approved, due to it not meeting the 10 standards for variance, laid out in the zoning ordinance," a staff member said in the hearing.
