Augusta recognizes public utilities worker for leading Public Power Week outreach

At the meeting the council and utilities staff recognized Angie Hicks, public utilities administrative assistant, for organizing a broad set of Public Power Week activities. Utilities Director Tim Johnson said Angie has 'hit the ground running' since joining staff and credited her with coordinating a Warm Hearts/Warm Homes winter gear drive (in partnership with the Augusta Public Library and the Community Caring Center), a touch-a-truck event, and social media promotions that helped highlight the electric utility’s work (SEG 098–116).
Council members thanked staff and noted the value of community partnerships and volunteer engagement in these outreach efforts. The recognition was ceremonial and did not require council action.
