Staff said the Lindaway sidewalk improvements (funded by the 2008 SPLOST) have an approximate budget of $330,000 and are roughly 80% complete; the Forest Parkway median landscaping project (2015 SPLOST) has an approximate budget of $447,000 and remains on schedule subject to weather; Legacy Dog Park at Bill Lee Park is substantially complete with an estimated budget of $45,000; Theater Park is reported at about 90% completion with remaining items such as gym equipment and a pavilion; Star Park amphitheatre and park renovations remain in the design phase with an estimated budget of $10 million; and the City Center construction project is in preconstruction as a CMAR (construction manager at risk) joint project with an estimated budget cited near $100 million funded by SPLOST and bond funds.
Staff emphasized continued oversight of milestones, budget adherence and contractor progress and said quarterly status reports will be prepared for mayor and council. Council members asked a few clarifying questions and expressed support for the projects; the transcript records appreciation for the packet and presentations.
