Council approves Resolution 2025‑14 to use county engineering firm for bridge inspections

The Claremore City Council on Feb. 3 approved Resolution 2025‑14 to contract with the same engineering firm Rogers County uses to perform federally required city bridge inspections for the two‑year period beginning April 1, 2026.
Staff said bridge inspections are federally procured through ODOT every two years and that using the county’s engineering firm simplifies procurement by avoiding a separate RFQ and leveraging a frequently used vendor. "The county used the same firm for the last, I don't know, 15, 20 years probably. And they've done a really good job," a presenter said.
Council moved, seconded and approved the resolution by roll call with no additional conditions recorded in the meeting minutes.
The resolution covers inspections required under federal and state bridge inspection programs and sets the city’s contract period from April 1, 2026, through March 31, 2028.
