The recommendation, made after a staff presentation and an applicant hearing, was unanimous among commissioners present and will be forwarded in writing to the commission for approval at its Dec. 1 meeting before the item is noticed for a City Council hearing tentatively scheduled for Dec. 23.
The applicants, Justin and Heather Arts (represented at the hearing by Justin Arts and Wilson McSwain), told the commission the request would align the property with the city's future land use map and support local economic development.…
