Kennedale parks board asks members to gather data as staff flags space, maintenance limits for dog park

Speaker 3 proposed collecting concrete data on community interest at the city’s Bark in the Park event in May and running an online survey to estimate how many households would actually use a dedicated dog area. "What we can do is we can probably just get, like, a good survey," Speaker 3 said, suggesting the event as an opportunity to gather usable numbers.
Board members and staff agreed that written recommendations and survey results would strengthen any request to the city manager. Staff described basic infrastructure needs—fencing, water, waste removal and ongoing cleaning—and emphasized that without demonstrated community demand and a funding/maintenance plan the city manager was unlikely to place a dog park on the capital or operating schedule.
