Kenai staff: dip-net report in council packet, new dock floats arriving

Director Frey said the Parks and Recreation dip-net report is available in the City Council packet and that the city has received materials to build new dock floats, with Streets crews slated to construct them this winter for spring deployment.
Director Frey reported at the Nov. 10 meeting that the Parks and Recreation dip-net report (prepared by Tyler Best) has been included in the City Council packet and contains attendance and revenue figures for this year. "Tyler Best... did finish the dip net report for this year. I believe that's in the city council packet," Frey said, directing commissioners to the packet for detailed figures.
Frey also told the commission the city has received lumber, angle iron and other supplies needed to construct replacement dock floats. He said Streets crew members will build the floats this winter when they have downtime from road work, and the city expects to deploy the new floats next spring unless heavy snowfall delays the work.
Separately, Council member Daniels briefed the commission on recent council business and facilities, saying the Challenger Learning Center lease will terminate on the 15th of the month and the facility will revert to city control for assessment and next steps. Daniels noted recent local election results and leadership changes on the council.
These items were presented as routine staff and council updates; no formal votes were taken on these reports during the Harbor Commission meeting.
