Keene planning commission recommends two candidates to fill vacancies

The City of Keene Planning and Zoning Commission voted to recommend Carter Schwartz and Stephanie Flannery to the City Council to fill two vacancies on the commission, the panel said during its regular meeting.

City staff told commissioners Schwartz requested consideration as an alternate because of scheduling constraints, while Stephanie Flannery, who lives in Keene, brings development experience from prior work in Cleburne. "I move to recommend to city council the appointment of Carter Schwartz and Stephanie Flannery to fill the vacancies on the Planning and Zoning Commission," a motion recorded in the meeting said; the chair announced the motion was made by Chris Rhodes and seconded by Gilbert Perez, and members raised hands in favor until the chair declared, "Motion passes."

The two vacancies are described in the record as expiring in March. Staff noted that if the commission forwards a recommendation at this meeting, the City Council could consider it on Dec. 4; otherwise the commission would address the appointments again at its Dec. 8 meeting.
