The change amends Chapter 98, section 98‑16‑81 of the Hialeah Code.
Separately, staff presented proposed updates to the city’s landscaping requirements to align with Miami‑Dade County’s impervious‑area regulations. Staff said the revisions will allow Hialeah to process certain permit reviews locally rather than defaulting to county review, shortening review times for homeowners and smaller projects. The board voted to recommend the landscaping amendments to City Council.
Both items passed with unanimous board support as recorded; staff will forward the recommendations to council.
