Fort Worth council approves consent items and a slate of board appointments; one councilor recuses

Fort Worth City Council met and approved its consent agenda and a series of board appointments during a routine session that included an invocation and brief public comment.
Mayor Tamara Parker called the meeting to order and the council cleared the consent agenda after staff announced one item had been withdrawn (M and C 25-1079) and another continued by staff (M and C 25-1082). Council member Hall announced a recusal from M and C 25-1079 "due to my employment with Fort Worth ISD," and the council proceeded to vote; the chair announced the motions carried.
The council approved mayoral and district appointments effective Nov. 18, 2025. Appointees and terms announced during the meeting included James Whitten to the Board of Adjustment (term through Oct. 1, 2027), Sergio Garza to the Board of Adjustment (partial term through Oct. 1, 2026), Michael Johnson to the Board of Adjustment (term through Oct. 1, 2027) and Virginia Maria to the Community Development Council (term through Oct. 1, 2027). City staff said applicants' full materials are available from the city secretary's office. Multiple additional appointment items were called and approved in succession with motions and votes recorded as carried.
Staff noted there were no speakers on nonconsent items. The chair then adjourned the meeting.
