Staff said the city would supply the storage unit, while the church would provide site access, operational support and be responsible for maintaining the unit; the written agreement defines city and church responsibilities.
Council members asked clarifying questions about maintenance and oversight. Councilwoman James said the church “does a lot for the community” and Councilman Gutierrez and others thanked church leaders for years of service. The council approved the partnership by motion and roll-call vote.
Staff said the partnership formalizes an existing relationship with the church and is intended to improve reliable distribution and storage to help hundreds of families in need.
