Budlong Pool project says forms and reinforcing complete; gunite scheduled next week

City project manager reported pool forms and reinforcing are installed, gunite application to begin at end of next week (weather permitting). Director Correio (project lead) briefed council on the three components of the Budlong Pool project: the pool, the pump house and the pool house. He said structural forms and reinforcing are in place and inspected; gunite application to pool bottom and walls is planned for the end of next week and will take about three to five days, weather permitting.

Correio said electrical work is progressing at the pump house and a concrete floor will be poured to complete that component. Interior work at the pool house is largely finished pending heating-system finalization and replacement mirrors; toilets, sinks and hot-water systems are installed and will require testing once water is introduced. City staff plans to partially fill the pool to stabilize it for winter and backfill around it; flat work (concrete patios) will resume in spring. The department anticipates opening in the first week of July, assuming weather and construction schedules hold.

Councilmembers asked about gunite life expectancy and warranty; Correio said he would gather vendor warranty information and provide it to the council.
