Jackson City Council agreed on Oct. 14 to appoint a three-member review committee of council members to work with staff on evaluating three responses to an opioid RFP and to make a recommendation to the full council.
Council members volunteered to serve on the review committee; the mayor asked for three volunteers and three were confirmed. Council also heard a staff announcement that the firefighters will run a "fill the boot" charity campaign at Brown and Michigan Avenue on Oct. 16–18 from 10 a.m. to noon.
What happens next: The appointed council review committee will meet with staff to evaluate the RFP responses and return a recommendation to the full council; the fire department will run its scheduled fundraising event.
