Hayden City — At its Oct. 14 meeting, the Hayden City Council received several informational updates from staff.
Zoning and data centers: Staff noted that 'data center' is not listed as an allowed use in any Hayden zoning table in Title 11; developers would need to pursue the 'new and unlisted use' process and present how a data center could fit in a chosen zoning district and come before council.
Historic preservation signage: The Historic Preservation Commission and Eagle Scout Ryan Draper prepared a 3-by-5-foot interpretive sign for Stoddard Park showing historical photos (apple-orchard history, original dairy barn imagery and a local factory). Staff said a final image swap was made and the sign will be printed soon.
Law-enforcement report: Captain Smart provided three months of activity reports and answered council questions about categories that rose recently, including suspicious calls, trespassing and aggravated assaults; staff explained some increases stemmed from domestic disputes, property-line easement complaints and retail-area incidents. The liaison recommended legal counsel for property owners when right-of-way or eminent-domain-style actions are discussed.
All items were informational; no council action was taken.
