Separately, council took up a resolution tied to FY budget allocations that the interlocal committee recommended for two projects: a lap pool at the Safaleta Family Aquatic Center (city to procure and administer design contracts within city limits) and development of baseball/softball fields at Great Crossing Park (county to procure design for county‑located facilities). The interlocal committee reported both bodies allocated matching design-phase funds (a quarter of $1,000,000 each in the budget discussion) and council approved the mirrored resolution to guide procurement and administration of the jointly funded design work.
Council members emphasized implementing master‑plan priorities, preserving the third identified project (Brooking Park playground) for future consideration, and noted the interlocal approach seeks coordination of funding and sequencing.
The resolution passed by voice vote.
