Lewiston approves FY26 service agreements with three local nonprofits

The Lewiston City Council voted Oct. 13 to approve three separate fiscal-year 2026 services agreements with local nonprofit partners: the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Lewis-Clark Valley (up to $18,000), Lewiston Civic Theater, Inc. (up to $30,000) and Valley Vision, Inc. (up to $50,000). Each agreement authorizes the mayor to sign the contract.
John Evans, executive director of the Boys & Girls Clubs, thanked the council for ongoing support and noted the organization’s recent Presidium accreditation and program expansions. Nancy McIntosh, executive director of the Lewiston Civic Theater, earlier thanked the council for supporting the theater’s youth programming and summer productions.
During the Valley Vision item, a councilor flagged inconsistent figures in the meeting packet (references to $40,000, $50,000 and a highlighted '54' on page 3). City Attorney Jennifer Tangano said the clean, final version of the contract in the packet shows the payment amount as $50,000 and appeared to resolve the discrepancy. Councilors praised the organizations’ community work and approved the agreements by voice vote.
What happens next: The mayor is authorized to sign each agreement and the funded organizations will proceed under the terms of their FY26 service contracts.
