Hopkinsville — At its Nov. 4 meeting the Hopkinsville City Council approved several routine but consequential items on voice and roll-call votes.
Ordinance 28-2025 (second reading): The council approved lowering the speed limit on Deepwood Drive from 30 mph to 25 mph; signage to comply with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices will be required.
Ordinance 29-2025 (second reading): Council adopted changes to Chapter 53 establishing phased wholesale water rates per 1,000 gallons. The ordinance passed on second reading by roll call.
Cable oversight authority: The Cable Oversight Authority reported that federal law and industry changes have reduced the body’s powers; the council directed staff to draft an ordinance to repeal the 1992 ordinance that created the authority.
Municipal Order A47-2025: Council authorized transferring $34,005.60 previously allocated for a Better Block concept to the Legacy Hopkinsville downtown incentive program line item.
All of the above were approved at the Nov. 4 meeting by either voice or roll-call votes as recorded in the minutes.
