Lubbock council approves minutes, consent agenda, and adjourns after brief agenda

The Lubbock City Council’s Nov. 4 meeting was short and procedural. After announcing an executive session under Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code, the council reconvened for ceremonial items, approved minutes and a consent agenda, handled three substantive agenda items and adjourned.
Council approved the Oct. 14 meeting minutes and the consent agenda with item 5.11 removed for later consideration. A subsequent motion postponed item 5.11 to an unspecified later date.
On the agenda the council voted to cast the city’s 464 votes for two candidates to the Lubbock Central Appraisal District board (an even split was approved), repealed a recent alarm ordinance on second reading and reverted to the prior rule with an exception for repeat false alarms and refunds for those who paid permit fees, and postponed a first-reading dangerous-dog ordinance until the Nov. 11 meeting.
The meeting concluded after the council indicated it had exhausted the short agenda and adjourned.
