At the council meeting a downtown merchant, Anna Paz, told the council that the recent Trunk‑or‑Treat event drew approximately 3,500 children and overwhelmed parking behind Kuna City Hall and nearby businesses, which she said cost her business more than $20,000 in lost revenue that day.
"The revenue for that day that we lost was over $20,000," Paz said, giving her address as 1980 West Ardell, Kuna. She asked the city to work with the Kuna Chamber to explore funding for parking/security or consider taking management of the event to reduce impacts on merchants.
Paz said she and other businesses support the event but that rapid growth in attendance has repeatedly strained available public parking and that better on‑site parking management and staffed guidance could direct attendees to alternative lots. The council offered to have the city's event coordinator meet with the chamber and the merchant to discuss options.
No formal action was taken; the item was recorded as public comment and the city said staff would follow up to connect the merchant with the city event coordinator and the chamber.
