Council authorizes applications for two LWCF projects, schedules public hearing Dec. 3

North Augusta — The City Council on Dec. 1 approved a resolution authorizing Parks & Recreation to apply for federal funding assistance under the Land and Water Conservation Fund program for two projects.
Assistant City Administrator JD McCauley told council the department selected two projects from the CPST 5 list: a playground shade structure at Riverview Park and an adaptive playground at Summerfield Park designed for children of all abilities. McCauley said the grant competition is “very highly competitive” but noted the city has received LWCF grants in the past.
McCauley announced the required public hearing on the grant applications will be held Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 5:30 p.m. at the Riverview Park Activity Center, 100 Riverview Park Drive, and invited interested parties to attend and comment.
Council approved Resolution 2025‑39 without recorded opposition.
