The McCall City Council approved a brief package of community recognitions and appointments.
Library Director Meg Lojek asked the council to proclaim Oct. 23 as Lights On After School day; she said the event will be hosted at the library and noted strong demand for after‑school programming in McCall and surrounding communities. Council moved, seconded and approved the proclamation.
Lojek also presented Patrick O'Kernick as the library board’s recommended appointment to fill a vacancy; O'Kernick introduced himself, described his background in education and local involvement, and council confirmed his appointment to a term expiring in October 2027.
Recreation Supervisor Tara Woods presented a parks-and-recreation recommendation to reappoint Avi Azule for another three-year term to preserve continuity and leadership on that advisory board; council voted to approve the appointment to a term expiring in October 2028.
All three actions were approved by roll-call votes recorded in the meeting packet.
