City says public safety building on schedule for Nov. 19 turnover; contingency draw under review

City staff and the project's construction manager told the Josephine City Council that the new public safety building is largely complete and remains on track for turnover on Nov. 19.
Project manager Ethel Hudgins (AGCM) reported concrete floors and interior finishes are in place; doors are installed though glass and card-access hardware remain to be finished. Remaining items include safes, radio equipment and final inspections. Hudgins said landscaping is complete and that some items were paid from contingency to satisfy TxDOT requirements; she told council she will provide a detailed accounting of that contingency draw on the next pay-application report.
Council approved acceptance of the update by unanimous vote and asked staff for a full explanation of the recent contingency draw and supporting documentation for the contractor pay application.
