North Bend council approves IT contracts and authorizes airport work; councilor recuses on contractor item

At its Oct. 14 meeting the North Bend City Council approved several procurement and authorization items.
The council authorized a three-year renewal agreement with OpenText for citywide employee data backup services in the amount of $48,847.54 and authorized the city administrator to execute the agreement. The council also authorized the city administrator to execute an annual Microsoft 365 government cloud licensing agreement with CompuNet Incorporated for $20,838.72.
On a separate request, the council considered an accommodation for West Coast Contractors to perform work at the North Bay airport outside normally allowed hours. Councilor Hamilton declared a conflict of interest, stating, "I'm an employee of West Coast contractors," and recused himself from the discussion and vote. The council then moved to authorize West Coast Contractors to perform the requested work and the motion carried.
Council did not attach additional conditions to the IT agreements in the meeting record. The city administrator was authorized to execute the contracts on the city's behalf.
