Assistant City Administrator JD McCauley told the council the Parks & Recreation Department will apply for a Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grant through the South Carolina Parks, Recreation and Tourism (SCPRT) program to fund two projects: a shade structure at Riverview Park and a playground replacement at Summerfield Park.
McCauley said staff selected the two projects as priorities and planned to use capital program CPST 5 funds as the required local match. Councilmembers expressed support for the projects during the study session and had no substantive questions, and McCauley said staff would present a resolution authorizing the application at next week’s meeting.
