The Lewiston City Council on Tuesday amended its work‑session agenda and voted to reappoint Julie Craig to a three‑year term on the city’s audit committee.
Councilor Wright moved to add the appointment as an action item because the mayor would be unavailable for the October 13 meeting and council action was required before the audit committee’s next meeting. The motion, seconded by Council President Kleberg, carried on a voice vote. Mayor Johnson then moved the appointment, seconded by Councilor Forsman; the council again approved the reappointment by voice vote.
The council did not discuss the appointment prior to the vote, and no councilor recorded opposition on the record. Julie Craig was present for the meeting to hear the action.
The council’s amendment and subsequent appointment were presented as a procedural necessity to ensure the audit committee could proceed with its scheduled business while the mayor is absent.
