McCall council adopts fees for library meeting rooms; residents exempt

The McCall City Council voted to adopt Resolution 26‑02, which adds new fees for use of the public library meeting rooms while exempting city residents and local groups.
Library Director Meg LoJack presented the proposal and described heavy room usage: “the 2 rooms are booked 90% of the days that they're available,” she said, adding that staff time and cleaning costs have been higher than expected. LoJack said the fees were developed after review by the library board of trustees, attorney review and informal consultations with frequent users and were recommended by the city manager as one step to address library revenue needs.
No members of the public testified in person or online during the hearing. After closing the public hearing, council member Mike moved to adopt the resolution and the motion was seconded and approved by unanimous roll call.
Why it matters: Council said the fees balance public access with the library’s operational costs and will help the city and library manage high room utilization.
