Community Services reported that the Full Circle project in Glen Ellyn will proceed under a HOME commitment and that local agencies are working through Continuum of Care transitions; HUD had not yet released Continuum of Care applications, leaving deadlines unclear.
Mary Keating delivered a brief community services update at the Dec. 2 Human Services Committee meeting, highlighting upcoming committee discussion and a local housing project.
Keating pointed committee members to item 6A, the HOME Investment Partnership commitment for Full Circle's community project in Glen Ellyn, and said the home advisory group and the community development commission executive committee would meet to discuss 2026 CDBG funding recommendations. "We're really happy to see our funding moving forward on that," Keating said.
Keating also described local agencies' work on changes to the Continuum of Care program, saying they were "working through how they'll... be transitioning some of those into transitional housing projects" and evaluating impacts on individuals in permanent supportive housing. She noted uncertainty about HUD's schedule: "HUD still hasn't released the actual applications, even though, allegedly, they are due, I think, on December 15." The committee did not receive clarification from HUD at the meeting.
Keating closed by thanking committee members and staff and wishing everyone a happy holiday; she noted this was the last Human Services meeting of the year.
