The DuPage County Human Services Committee on Dec. 2 approved a series of funding commitments, grants and contracts affecting affordable housing and the DuPage Care Center.
The committee approved HSR 19-25, a recommendation to commit HOME Investment Partnerships Program funds and enter a HOME agreement with Taft and Exmoor LP for project numbers 2105, 2202 and 2302. The motion authorizes $1,750,000 for construction of a 42-unit affordable rental development for families and persons with disabilities.
Committee members also approved several grant acceptances and appropriations from the DuPage Care Center Foundation for program year ’26: a coordinator grant for $32,500 (FIR 20625), a recreation therapy grant for $30,083 (FIR 20725), and a music therapy grant for $63,486 (FIR 20525). Those motions were moved, seconded and carried by voice votes.
The committee approved HSP 59-25, a resolution to award Optimum Management Resources a contract to provide technical assistance and consultation to the DuPage County Homeless Continuum of Care with a contract total not to exceed $37,350. Mary Keating also noted the committee will discuss 2026 CDBG recommendations at the home advisory group and community development commission executive committee.
Several service and procurement contracts for the DuPage Care Center were also approved. The committee authorized a contract/purchase order to Pulmonary Exchange LTD for respiratory equipment rental (HSP 60-25) and a contract to Music Speaks LLC for music therapy services (HSP 61-25) with stated not-to-exceed totals. The transcript lists contract periods such as 'January 1826 through January 1727' and program years of '1926' or '3126' in several items; committee discussion noted these apparent typographical errors in the record.
One item requiring a roll call vote — a contract purchase order to Illinois Aging Services Network to negotiate managed care contracts (item listed in the packet as 25 29 11) — was recorded with affirmative votes and carried. The contract total was listed as not to exceed $17,302.34 in the meeting materials.
The meeting closed with updates and announcements and the committee adjourned without further action.
