Council hears plan to expand bike-share fleet with Urban Enterprise Zone funds

The administration described outreach efforts and a partnership with EasyRide, which has provided helmets and helped with promotional events; staff also said a discount code in the app provides a free ride for the first two hours.
Council members asked about ridership and placement; staff responded that usage has been increasing and that the program coordinator has conducted outreach at events and worked on training and safety suggestions. One councilmember suggested offering training sessions for less-experienced riders and staff said they would look into programming between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m.
The item was included in a consent block (items 21–38) and the council moved and voted to accept the group of routine matters, including the bike-share expansion, by roll-call majority recorded as 'Yes.' The motion carried without recorded dissent.
