On Sept. 2, the Owensboro City Commission voted to enter a closed session "under 61.811 (1) (g)" for discussions with representatives of a business entity concerning a specific proposal. Mayor Tom Watson moved for the closed session, a motion that was seconded and approved by voice vote.
The mayor stated the closed session would be the final business of the evening and that there would be no further public business after the closed session. The commission did not take any public action in open session related to the proposed business during the meeting.
