Oakdale council approves $26,245 landscaping contract for Bridle Ridge and Vineyards LLMDs

Staff presented the contract proposal, explaining the work includes a one‑time cleanup with a contingency for additional cleanup later in the fiscal year, vegetation trimming, weed removal, leaf blowing, debris removal, ivy and wall maintenance, and an option to extend the contract up to two additional years. The presenter said the work would be charged to the Bridle Ridge and Vineyards LLMD funds and would not affect the general fund.
The contract price quoted by staff was $26,245 with a breakdown shown to the council (Bridle Ridge LLMD portion $3,750; Vineyards LLMD portion $22,495). The presenter said crews maintain similar contracts with RP Landscaping and recommended continuing with the firm to avoid pulling city crews from other critical duties.
At the start of the discussion an unidentified councilor indicated a recusal for proximity; the council then moved and approved the resolution. The roll call shows Council members Murdoch, Kettering and Mayor Pro Tem Gilbert voting yes; the motion passed 3–0 with the recusal noted.
Staff confirmed the funds for the work have been budgeted in the LLMD fund and no additional appropriations were required.
The contract adoption authorizes the city manager to execute the agreement and includes the contract sum, fund sources, and the stated scope of services.
