Planning commission approves zone-map amendment for multiple Baker Court lots

The Richmond planning commission voted to approve a set of zone map amendments for multiple parcels on Baker Court, changing the designated zoning from R-2 to R-1.

Staff noted a map showing the affected parcels and said that the applications were bundled so the commission could vote on them in a single motion if the record listed each property. Commissioner S3 moved to approve the amendment for the Baker Court properties as read into the record and S2 seconded. The parcels read into the record included 504, 506, 507, 508, 510, 513, 516, 517, 518, 519, 521, 522 and 524 Baker Court.

A roll call followed. Commissioner Grant recorded a "Yes" vote, as did Commissioners Francis, Short, Miller, Perkins, Miles and Estelle. The motion carried.

The commission did not receive public comment on the Baker Court rezoning during the meeting. Staff said the change would alter the allowable housing type for those parcels from a higher-density R-2 classification to a single-family R-1 standard.

The planning office indicated the applications and associated maps were included in the commission packet; no amendments to the motion were recorded. The commission moved on to the next agenda item after the vote.
