Main Street reports downtown events, says community favors reduced 'Plan A' for streetscape

Bridget, a Main Street representative, told the Pryor Creek EDTA that community engagement and recent town halls favored "Plan A," a trimmed-down version of a previously proposed streetscape that would reduce bump-outs, landscaping and irrigation to limit parking loss and ongoing maintenance costs.
Bridget outlined several downtown events that showed strong participation in October and urged trustees to support promotions for Small Business Saturday on Nov. 29 and Christmas on Main on Dec. 6. She also reminded trustees that façade grant applications are open and the application window closes on the 14th.
She said the streetscape option had been approved earlier by the streetscape committee and by the City Council in a 7–1 vote. Staff presented the plan as a compromise intended to preserve parking and lower maintenance expenses while improving downtown appearance.
Trustees asked no substantive questions immediately after the presentation and thanked Bridget for the update.
