The Wyandotte Creek GSA voted on Oct. 23 to form a temporary two-member financial and administrative ad hoc committee to assist staff in evaluating financial systems, potential fee mechanisms and cost-sharing arrangements with Butte County.
Staff said the ad hoc group would support staff work (staff will prepare the reports) and would likely run about nine months, concluding with recommendations to the board in time for the next fiscal-year budget planning. The proposal is intended to help the agency plan a five-year budget and consider rate impacts while the Sigma grant and other funding sources wind down.
Board members volunteered for the committee and a motion to form the group was made, seconded and approved by voice vote. Staff noted that many decisions will depend on county actions and the existing cost-share arrangement; the ad hoc committee is expected to consult with county representatives and staff as needed.
The ad hoc committee is charged with advising staff and the board on priorities, budget options, and recommendations to minimize rate impacts on ratepayers while meeting the GSA's responsibilities.
