The Prior Creek City Council heard the first reading of an ordinance to grant a nonexclusive permit to Clarity Telecom LLC, doing business as Blue Peak, to construct and operate a cable/fiber system in the city.
City attorney read the ordinance introduction and council clarified the technology described is fiber optics rather than traditional cable. Members unanimously voted to waive a formal reading on the ordinance’s introduction; the ordinance was introduced as required but, per local code, will not be passed on the date of introduction.
Council members indicated they had no immediate objections to the concept and advised staff to continue with the ordinance process and any necessary technical clarifications with the company before further readings and potential adoption.
