The Shelton Planning & Zoning Commission continued consideration of application 2511 on Oct. 22 after staff reported remaining engineering questions about drainage and grading.
Chair Virginia Harger explained the application (Paul Balmero for Henricona) proposes a two‑story commercial building with retail on the ground floor and offices above at 41–45 Ridgewood Avenue. The application had been accepted for review in June, opened for public hearing previously and was continued on Aug. 13. Staff confirmed the applicant filed the required extension letter, and the Shelton WPCA has approved the application; however, the city engineer noted the applicant’s most recent drawings did not include requested drainage details and outstanding questions remain.
Mister Buchanan (city staff) told the commission the applicant’s resubmitted drawings modified only two items and did not show the drainage work the engineer requested, leaving unresolved stormwater and grading issues. Chair Harger said that, unless staff advises otherwise, the public hearing will be continued to the Nov. 12 commission agenda to allow the applicant to submit the plans the city engineer requested.
No vote was taken on the merits of the site plan at the meeting; the commission directed staff to set the continuation date and monitor submittal of the requested materials.
