The Sandpoint Arts, Culture, and Preservation Commission discussed whether to reapply for a Certified Local Government (CLG) grant to support ordinance work and outreach at its Nov. 14 meeting.
Commissioners and staff said the city applied previously but was denied because it was not far enough along with an adopted ordinance. At the meeting staff said the city still had no adopted ordinance, but Bill Dean said he would evaluate whether the commission could demonstrate sufficient intent and progress to pursue the grant by the Jan. 31 deadline and would bring a recommendation in December.
No formal motion to apply was made at the meeting; staff was asked to pursue the feasibility of reapplying and report back.
