Taft council approves consent calendar, including bills and police firearm purchase, on 4–0 vote

Councilmember Waldrop indicated no changes, and the mayor called for and received a motion and second before the roll call.
Item 9 — the monthly report from Kern County Fire Station No. 21 for September 2025 — was removed from the consent calendar so a fire representative could present the report and brief the council on seasonal safety concerns. The removed item was later received and filed after presentation (see related article).
The council did not record a named mover or seconder in the transcript; the clerk conducted a roll-call vote that was recorded as yes by four members and the motion carried.
