Taft City Council honors Dr. Vibhul Tang for decades of medical service

The Taft City Council recognized Dr. Vibhul Tang Prahaaporn on Oct. 21 with a certificate of commendation marking nearly five decades of medical practice in Taft.
Mayor Noor presented the proclamation, noting Dr. Tang’s journey from Bangkok to a longtime practice in Taft and his decades of service on the city’s West Side. “In recognition of his many years of dedicated service to the West Side,” the mayor read, the council dated the commendation October 2025 and signed it by the five members present.
Dr. Tang accepted the honor and thanked the council and his family, saying he appreciated “your kindness” and reflecting on challenges and rewards from “almost 47 years” in practice.
Several speakers offered personal tributes. A Rotary Club member and other community speakers credited Dr. Tang with founding the annual health fair and recalled his steady community presence. Council members and local leaders described him as a trusted physician who had cared for generations of residents, with one attendee recalling Dr. Tang serving as the football team’s doctor.
The council’s recognition closed the ceremonial portion of the meeting and the body proceeded to its regular agenda.
