Byrd also presented a donation from the Tippel Neighborhood Association: a bronze kneeling officer statue mounted on a polished granite base with pavers and benches valued at $63,716.24 to honor two fallen officers. Byrd said the description in the neighborhood letter needs correction and read the updated wording into the record; staff committed to provide a corrected letter for the public record before acceptance.
Councilors thanked the Parks Department and neighborhood donors and discussed holding additional tree‑lightings in other neighborhoods next year to broaden access for families who cannot come downtown. No vote on the donation was recorded during the study session; Byrd said corrected donation language will be provided.
