Council removes window-alignment condition on Milestone South subdivision

The Star City Council reconsidered and removed condition number 3 from the previously approved Milestone South subdivision on Oct. 7, 2025. The condition had required the applicant to design houses such that side windows would not align with neighboring houses. Councilmember Nielsen explained he asked for reconsideration because the city would have difficulty enforcing the condition; staff confirmed UDC reconsideration requirements were met.
Council discussion centered on enforceability rather than policy merit. Councilman Wheelock moved to approve the reconsideration; Councilman Hershey seconded the motion. The roll call vote recorded an unanimous approval from attending members.
Why it matters: the change removes a design-specific construction restriction from the subdivision approval; staff will bring an updated final document to council as needed.
