Munster High students highlight CyberPatriot success, urge more tech pathways

Students from Munster High School’s CyberPatriot club presented to the School Town of Munster Board of Trustees about their competition experience and educational value. Mister Nolan introduced the group, and student speakers Charlie Chen and Matthew described how the club prepares students to find and fix vulnerabilities in simulated systems and highlighted recent national placements.

Charlie Chen said the club gives students experience relevant to future careers: "We are training these young passionate high schoolers to build these cyber cybersecurity jobs in the future." Matthew described CyberPatriot as a national competition hosted by the U.S. Air Force that places students in simulated roles to remediate compromised machines.

Administrators and a board member thanked the students and the club’s sponsors for enabling the program; the presentation was framed as part of broader district efforts to expand career pathways and technical opportunities.

The presentation did not result in a formal action but was recognized by trustees as a valued extracurricular program contributing to student career readiness.
